As some of you know, my parents came to town a couple weeks ago from Chicago.
I grew up in Portland, and my mom and step dad moved to Chicago when I was a sophomore in college for my step-dad’s job. It is always bittersweet to have them here, because at the end of the day I don’t think they ever wanted to leave the NW. But that’s life and we made the best of their visit!
A favorite in our family is a good ‘ol trip to the gorge. It was a foggy fall day that Saturday, but I still loved it.
If you do the long loop through the waterfalls, there are about 5 stops we usually take.
First one is the Crown Point Vista House.
The layer of fog was insane! Even with the fog- what a view!
The next stop is Latourell Falls. This is one of my favorites because it is such a crowd pleaser. You can walk right to the bottom of the falls and it’s so impressive with the water slamming down right next to you.
Wait… how cute are my parents?!
Now there are usually a couple other stops along the way, but Wakeena falls was under construction and it was FREEZING.
So last- Multnomah Falls!
Such a fun day with them! We always stop at Edgefield on the way home, but there is another post about that coming soon 🙂
Thanks for following along!
Love,
Rachel xo

I also am a fan of showing people the Gorge, especially since it's so conveniently close! I usually like to stop at LaTourell too because of being able to get so close, as well as Multnomah Falls of course and if everyone feels like stretching their legs a little, maybe Bridal Veil Falls. When I got married, I had all my invitations mailed from Bridal Veils so it had a handstamped postmark from the little post office here!

I love making this drive, and don't do it nearly enough!! We live in such a gorgeous place, I can see why it's hard for them to leave!

Looks like a solid gorge visit 🙂 I love the gorge when it's foggy – it's so PNW-esque 🙂

I think that the Gorge is especially pretty in the fog!
